This is the autobiographical journal of Arvil Bren, a somewhat reluctant hero who has been placed on an unknown quest by powers that he barely knows exist. Follow his journey as it is updated daily, Monday through Friday, and enjoy! These are the most recent entries in Arvil Bren's third journal; Politics of the Redoran. His first journal can be found in its entirety here. His second journal, Trail of the Archmage can be found here.

Well that was no fun

Thanks to all for your support. For the first time in a long time (ever actually) I was sick...like really disablingly sick. Antibiotics are done...kicking the aftereffects of the pain killers is done (mostly)...and hopefully things will start getting back to normal around here. I played a bunch of games that didn't call for a lot of thought, so I'm pretty well burnt out on that...meaning that I'm about ready to get back to writing. Next week should get us back on track...promise!

Holy canolli! Am I glad to hear that! Not the part about being sick, of course. That sucks. But it's great that you're feeling better and that you're still into this. I was worried that perhaps you were losing interest. Silly.

Wow, first your girlfriend, now you. Was it contagious?

Good to see you back.

YAY!!!! Tim's back!!! It's good to hear that you are better, now. We were all really worried. I mean, at first I'm sure most were just annoyed. But eventually, it became obvious (to your more faithful) that something serious was wrong. It's good, no great, to hear that you are back and better.

I can't tell you how brilliant it is to hear from you; once the missing Arvil Bren bit wore off, and with still no news from you, we all got really worried, so it is really GREAT to hear you're OK now.

I'm really sorry you were so ill; I hope you get right back on track in every area really quickly.

BUT please don't rush Arvil - it's just so good to hear from you again!

I hope that one of the good things that's come out of your illness is that you realise what a fantastic lot of very loyal and committed followers you have out here!!

We've all continued to log on to your site every day, and the gradual change in our comments, I hope, reflects what a great story you are writing, and how much we all miss it - probably more than we care to admit even to our closesr friends!! - sort of sneaking off to the PC surruptiously when no-one's looking, to see if you've logged in a day's writing!!
After a fortnight, I think other people began to think I was taking the whole Arvil Bren thing a bit too seriously !!!!!!......

Hi all!

Nothing contagious, or even related really. My girlfriend had some stomache flu type thing...unpleasant, and kept her home and me busy taking care of her. No sooner had she recovered than I fell prey to some sort of infection around my teeth, which eventually spread through my sinus, my ear, and some nether region of my eye before the anti-biotics got it contained. Post mortem I wish I had taken less of the offered pain killers, but at the time they seemed woefully inadequate. I am now fully recovered from infection, pain, and the fuzzyness associated with large sustained doses of painkillers. I hope today's entry proves worth the wait.
